Loving God
Loving People
Our Mission
Loving God, Loving People
This Mission Statement defines the purpose of the Church—to love God and to love people. This is echoing the words of Jesus when he was asked, ‘What is the greatest Commandment.”
Loving God
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. –Mark 12:30
Loving God is our highest priority as a Church. This is expressed through our commitment and submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and living our life as His faithful witnesses.
Loving People
Love your neighbor as yourself. –Mark 12:31
Our love for God is shown genuine by our practical love for our fellow man, free from prejudice or favouritism. We believe all people have been made in the image of God and have immense value.
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.—1John 3:18
The 5 Gs
The 5Gs define who we are as a Church as we strive to be a faithful witness to Jesus Christ, shining his light in our community and beyond.
Godly
We strive to be a Church committed to Biblical integrity. Corporately we need to obey the Word of God and represent Jesus. Personally we need to keep growing our character and manage our actions and reaction.
Romans 12: 1-2, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 5:1
Generous
We strive to be a Church committed to Generosity in our finances, our time, our resources and our gifts/abilities. We need to be constantly ‘others’ focused. We serve a generous God who has freely given to us, so we seek to express that generosity to others.
Luke 6:38, 2Corinthians 8:1-7, 2Corinthians 9:6-8
Generations
We strive to be a Church committed to fruitful ministry across all generations. We highly value the contribution made by all age groups and do not believe any group is more or less important.
Acts 2:17-18, Proverbs 16:31, Matthew 18:1-6
Grace
We strive to be a Church committed to expressing and displaying the grace of God. We see the best in people and believe the best for them. We are a Church that anyone can come to.
John 13:35, Romans 15:7, Ephesians 2:8-9
Gospel
We strive to be a Church committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is good news and we seek to share that good news in relevant ways that make sense to Australians today.
Matt 28:19-20, Romans 1:16, Ephesians 6:19
